Cycling is always a fun activity and a passion for many of us. But there can’t be anything better than adding a purpose to your passion. Keeping purpose in mind, 60 cyclists from across Delhi, Noida & Gurgaon came together for a wonderful initiative to promote the usage of natural flowers.

It started in the early morning of January 7, 2023, which was not like any other day; it came along with the enthusiasm and cheerfulness of the Delhi cycling community. The NSIC Exhibition Ground witnessed the energy brought by the cyclists.

The cyclothon which was small in size but big in value was organized to raise public awareness about the use of natural flowers and discard those made of plastic. In the opening remarks, the Director of Growers Flower Council of India (GFCI), Mr Kishore Rajan emphasized the importance of discarding plastic flowers and replacing them with natural flowers.

The event started with the flag off by our GFCI management, with enthusiasm and positive energy cyclist went to the Humayun tomb and took a loop back to the NSIC ground. During the entire course of the event, people were amazed to see so many bikes decorated with flowers of different colours. The sight of so many decorated bikes on Delhi’s busy streets delighted the children in particular. Participants received beautiful, medals jackets and a certificate from the Flower Council of India, not to mention refreshments, tea and coffee were also provided to the participants.

In a world full of artificial things, we had the wonderful opportunity to successfully advocate for the use of natural flowers via a cyclothon. Thank you, “The Growers Flower Council of India,” for the opportunity to organize the event.

With this initiative we at Ridewatt also urge all cyclists across the world, pls use natural flowers, help farmers to get a livelihood, save our soil from plastics and reduce plastic usage in our lifestyle.

Happy Cycling
