There are two types of people; one who likes to show off and another one who just buy to fulfil the needs. But does it work with your cycling tires?
Cycling tires are the essential parts of the bike irrespective of the groupset, frame size, frame weight or brand you are using. It is the element that interacts with the surface and gives you a true feeling of riding on different roads. Our personal experience is cheap tires will give you the advantage over money to save more monies but when it comes to the experience,it ruins everything.
To give it a perspective, I have used Ralson tires which are 10 times cheaper than any good tires in the market currently in India. Currently is the state that the international tire brands are not available in our market. If something is available is super expensive and overcharged by the sellers. So Ralson tires, the first challenge I had was the rolling resistance; super high resistance killed my appetite to ride faster with the group. I was lagging behind the group in all rides. Secondly, which is most important is the bulge on the tire. The uneven tires made my wheel look non-true and I was constantly worried about it. This story continued when I had to visit a bike mechanic several times to fix the tire alignment, therefore, spending more monies and time.
Lastly, these tires were so much demotivating factor for me that I started riding lesser and lesser in the group. Overall, the few days riding experience degraded with the cheap tires
In summary, what I am not saying is the less expensive tires are not good but you should pursue good brands of tires. The least expensive tires from Continental or Vittoria are still far better than inexperienced tire manufacturers.
