An inspiring display of endurance, 57-year-old CRPF Assistant Commandant Sohan Singh Rawat from Dibrugarh has completed a gruelling 1000-km cycling expedition. The route covered a full loop from Guwahati to Dibrugarh and back, passing through Nagaon, Tezpur, Biswanath Chariali, Narayanpur, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Kulajan, Bogibeel and returning the same way – a stretch known for long, demanding roads.
Rawat kicked off his ride before sunrise on November 20 and crossed the finish line on November 23. Among the 9 cyclists who took up this challenge, 3 dropped out halfway, but Rawat powered through and secured the top position among the remaining 6 finishers. He clocked 49 hours 45 minutes of pure cycling and wrapped up the entire expedition in 71 hours 45 minutes.
A remarkable achievement that proves dedication can outlast any distance.
