Four promising young riders are ready to represent the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the 2026 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Hulst, Netherlands – marking their very first appearance at this top-level event.
Junior cyclists Alana Fletcher, Alicia Reynolds, Oliver Grande, and Hayden Vimpani have been officially selected by the AusCycling National Selection Panel for the championship, which will run from January 30 to February 1.
In the junior men’s lineup, Australia will field Grande and Vimpani. Grande comes in as the current national champion, while Vimpani earned the national series crown thanks to his steady and impressive season.
Recently, both riders spent a week training at a UCI cyclo-cross camp in Switzerland with athletes from 15 different countries. They finished the camp with strong performances at Round 4 of the Swiss Cyclo-cross Cup – Vimpani taking a determined 13th place and Grande finishing inside the top 30.
For the junior women, Bendigo’s Alana Fletcher continues her standout year as both the national champion and national series winner. She will be joined by Alicia Reynolds, who has been sharpening her racing skills in England’s Hope Supercross Series over the past few months.
