Where to go? If you have dedicated yourself to cycling, you’re bound to look for new places. But when you are cycling in a city for a long duration, it becomes difficult to find new routes.

There are limited places for cycling in a metropolitan city, however, you would be surprised to find there are plenty of unexplored ones. Be it heritage sites, natural abundance or stretch for your long rides, we have everything in the NCR region.

Therefore, before you plan your next ride, here are our recommendations where you would love to take pictures with your cycle.

1- Malcha Mahal

At the heart of the city, the Mahal is also famous for being haunted, however, it has a long glorious history to natural death of the place. 

It’s a hunting lodge. Once, the home of Begum Waliyat Mahal and her children, is now a destination for many cyclists to go beyond a ride. 

The route is little rough for 300 meters before the mahal and you would have to walk 100 meters before to enter the mahal site. It implies that you have to lock your cycle outside in open. 

Being a little offroad, road cycle can also easily enter the place and if you have hybrid or MTB bike, nothing can beat that experience.

So what would see you there? Nothing! Yes, it’s a dying mahal, full of trees growing everywhere around it. Even the roof is full of grass but still standing solid. Once you climb a few steps to the roof, it has an astonishing view. Unlike any city where we find the place full of high rise infra, here you will find an unimaginable forest. 

So if you like to see a place where you would find jungle experience and glowing sunrise view, you should not miss it.

2- Pandala (Aravalli Hills)

Generally known as Aravalli hills, it’s a part of large Aravalli range that extends to the entire Gurgaon region. If you are planning to visit Pandala hill, you will have to take NH-8 from Delhi and just before Manesar Toll, it’s on your left. It’s one of the coolest picnic spots for Delhiites and cyclist community which give a thrilling long route experience and curve roads at the place.

That is not it, you will find many small restaurants to serve you hot cup of coffee, tea and snacks. This place also suits those who are searching a place for camping or small hiking zone.

3- India Gate & Rastrapati Bhavan

When you are in Delhi, it becomes mandatory to visit India Gate and Rashtrapati Bhawan (President’s House). The advantage of visiting these places are having a safe road, less traffic, and the best photography location. Just after lockdown, central Delhi became a hub for the cycling community and now they are happily visiting it every day.

4- Hanuman Murti – Gurgaon Faridabad Road

When thrills are your thing, Gurgaon-Faridabad road, generally known as GFR is the route should not miss out on. Having a good road, less traffic and traffic scenes, you will find the route to becoming one of your favourites. This route also gives you enough challenges to climb and enjoy the steep zones.

The road is safe to ride however we recommend always ride in a group. You will find plenty of places to visit on GFR, one of them is Hanuman Murtii (Hanuman Temple) and shooting range. 

5- Pari Chowk, Greater Noida (Greater Noida Expressway)

It’s for those who are looking for a flat road surface without putting hands on their breaks. Greater Noida Expressway is made for people who love to go non-stop from Delhi or Noida. One may find it too consistent ride on this road however, you can reply on your speed on this road to make it a challenge.

6- Sanjay Van

Sanjay Van is a perfect destination for people to visit an off-road place within the city and those who are practising Mountain biking or trail biking, should not miss this place. You may not find the place ideal for road bike however the thrill of climbing, walking and even riding your MTB on the difficult terrain is a thrilling experience within the city. Early morning, you will find many joggers around going from one place to another so that makes it safe for people visiting alone. The place also has its security personnel who keep an eye on everyone to ensure the safety of people here in the city.

7- Aravalli Bio-diversity park

The Bio Diversity Park is situated at the helm of Aravalli hills. Being a short but diverse trail for joggers and cyclist, its always full of enthusiasts in the morning and evening. You will find a variety of animals and birds around while cycling here. The place is safe, however, is not ideal for road bikes.

8- KMP Expressway

This is an excellent stretch for road cyclists where you will find long non interrupting route where you can challenge your speed limits and strive for the fastest ride. The route is long, however, if you stay in Delhi or Gurgaon, you could join it from Manesar and take whichever side you could.

9- Badkhal Lake

A natural lake amid a dense forest of Aravalli, you will find a mix of soothing natural beauty with an adventurous ride to the lake. Though it’s an off-road journey but not advisable to carry the cycle inside the jungle to avoid tyre punctures. One may visit the entrance on Gurgaon Faridabad Road and park their bikes there before hitchhiking towards the lake. The ideal time to visit the lake is March-April or September-October.

10- Terminal 3

The question of what makes the Airport terminal special is observing the most advanced form of transportation with one of the oldest commute medium. It’s easily accessible to visit the terminal parking since the roads are well structured and traffic is managed properly.
